Shadows of Ecstasy was recorded at Hamilton Ontario's iconic Grant Ave Studio which was founded by Dan and Bob Lanois. These 11 songs, the first that Edgar Breau recorded after the premature demise of Simply Saucer are released for the first time in their intended format as an album. Newly mastered by Detroit studio wizard, Jim Diamond with the idiosyncratic art work of J.D. King.

about
Simply Saucer's rehearsal space in 1974 was a narrow store front on Kenilworth Street in Hamilton. Walls painted black, no furniture to speak of, no bath, shower..there was a fridge, usually full of beer. I slept on a thin piece of foam on the floor space between the amplifiers and it was there that I composed (yes) the songs that someday would comprise the tracks on Cyborgs Revisited. It was there on the 'mean streets' outside our digs that I befriended Ernie Hildreth, a former boxer, cleric, now a wino begging for spare change. We became friends and he encouraged my musical experiments. Sometimes he'd drop over to the rehearsal space to do the shit faced Acadian shuffle as Simply Saucer wailed away. Anyhow, Ernie's long gone from here..This song is for him..the drawing btw that accompanies the song is by Jack Kerouac.
lyrics
Shout About It Now
Tell you a story, don't know how to begin, about a drifter who became a precious friend, he was a derelict cleric on the run, till he left that street corner, begged his way to kingdom come
We spoke of movies talked about the rain while window shopping on fourth street and main
of saints and sinners, psychedelic seers and how to find meaning in this old valley of tears
Shout about it
Shout about it now now
In this our age of infamy a man's choice is but to be
a tyrant, traitor or a prisoner no other choice has he (says Pushkin)
Bill mentioned something 'bout Orwell in Spain, Soviet gulags, Solzhenitsyn's pain, na na na na na na
How could the west avoid that harvest of despair
lost as it was in a vanity fare, na na na na na na
Shout about it
shout about it now now now
Why don't you shout about it talk about it?
Shout about it now now
I dig GKC, loath FM radio, play Alaskan guitar wear a tarnished halo
Detective stories speak volumes to me about the fallen state of man and the need to restore some dignity
Now Billy bristled as he threw the gauntlet down
He spoke of social justice and the need for toleration all around
His lips they quivered, he spoke as in a trance
I played some hillbilly blues, Billie did the St Vitus dance
na na na na
Shout about it
shout about it now now
shout about it talk about it
shout about it now now now
