Shadows of Ecstasy was recorded at Hamilton Ontario's iconic Grant Ave Studio which was founded by Dan and Bob Lanois. These 11 songs, the first that Edgar Breau recorded after the premature demise of Simply Saucer are released for the first time in their intended format as an album. Newly mastered by Detroit studio wizard, Jim Diamond with the idiosyncratic art work of J.D. King.

about

Based on a poem by W.B. Yeats, "Why Should Not Old Men Be Mad?"
A sort of rockabilly romp in open G tuning. The poem expresses the mature thought of an older man on life's ups and downs, inevitable sorrows and disappointments from the young lad with the fine flyfisher's wrist to the older drunken journalist. There are many literary references and one referring to Maud Gonne the actress with whom he had a tragic unfulfilled relationship. Kevin's bass and Paul's drumming really drive the song with tight guitar work by Jeff. I sang it in an uncharacteristic throaty voice for some reason, seemed to work out fine. Lovely harmony work by Compton Roberts, as always.
